Guest Room Update

About a month ago we made a decision to break down our home projects by room – to keep from getting overwhelmed. We want to complete each room one by one (minus large projects that might have to be pushed out).Β  So anyway, we had started on the living room & were in the middle of decorating when Chris let me know his family would be coming to town within a couple weeks. I was happy they wanted to stay at our new house & I was excited to host guests… but one little problem… The guest bedroom looked terrible. We had been putting our time & money into the living room. So, without much time or funds, I immediately started throwing things together to try to get the guest bedroom at least comfortable and inviting. Here’s how it turned out!

First things first… the before photo:

Here’s the after photos:

Sources:Β  Headboard: Old, but I found it here on WayfairΒ //Β  Comforter Set: From a local store – but similar here &Β here // Dark Gray Euro Pillows: These came with our couch. Similar here // 2 Small Rugs – Old, but similar on Amazon here & here

Sources: Curtains: Exact here. Similar here & here // White Wood Chair: Old, but found very similar here at Walmart & here at Joss & MainΒ // Gray Blanket: Exact here. Similar here & here // Blue Pillow: From comforter set

Sources:Β White Picture Frames: Exact Here.Β Similar hereΒ &Β hereΒ // Pictures: Stock photos from Pexels // Wifi Sign: DIY // Barnwood Frame: Local find. But found a cute one for around $5 here at Walmart & a cute pallet frame here // Chicken Wire Basket: Old, similar here & here // Large Vase: Exact Here. Similar here.

Sources:Β Wicker Tray: Home Goods. Similar hereΒ  //Β Dance While you Can Book: Here on Amazon // Candle:Β Soy Candle (these are my FAVORITE candles! I buy from this gal locally (farmers market), but she does have an Etsy shop now. I promise they are amazing quality!)

Β

Little goodies I included to make guests feel welcome:

• Travel size toiletries [shampoo, conditioner, body soap (sensitive & normal), body lotion, Q-tips, lint roller, hairspray, dry shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, face wash, makeup remover wipes, deodorant (mens & womens)]

• Water bottles & non-messy snacks (Nuts, candies, pretzels, lara bars, & gum)

I am so glad to have this room put together for the most part. We still need to add a ceiling fan & replace the carpet, but at least it’s functional now.

We just finished having Chris’s family stay with us for almost 2 weeks & everyone seemed to enjoy the space & goodies!

Let us know what you think! πŸ™‚

Turned out great! I always have a moment of panic before I have guests & worry way too much about whether the guest room is welcoming enough or not. I love the toiletries basket, that’s such an awesome extra touch!

Oh wow! This is exceptional. You had some good bones to work with but boy, did you outdo yourself. Any guest would be lucky to stay in this room!

I love the idea of the toiletries and snacks/water! My guest bedroom is so basic, and even though I don’t have guests that often, I feel like I should be better prepared when I do. I’m going to go and stock up on the toiletries this weekend!!
