DIY Heart Wreath – Under $10!

Hey friends! Hope you all are having a wonderful week! We have had some yucky winter weather here, but I’m not letting it bring me down! Just means I need to stop at Starbucks more for hot coffees, right??

This past weekend I got our Valentine’s Day decorating pretty much DONE. I will be sharing a post soon with everything, but right now I just want to share this super simple, very budget friendly heart wreath!

I found a wire heart-shaped wreath base at the dollar store for, you guessed it, one dollar! Then I worked my way to Hobby Lobby to find some flowers. At first I picked up a white rose bush, but when I got it home I realized it would take a ton of white roses to cover the wreath wire and then it would end up getting expensive… which was NOT the goal.

So back to Hobby Lobby…. brrr!

I decided to get big white peonies (these are the exact ones I used). They are so pretty & are full enough to cover the wire a lot better than the roses. Plus I was able to get away with just using ONE bush… Which was about $6 (Sale: 50% off floral – I never buy flowers at full price)

Since I knew I wasn’t going to be putting the wreath outside, I was not as careful or meticulous as I would be if it were going on the front door. All I did was cut the stems off close to the flowers and I used hot glue to glue them all on the wire. You could definitely use floral wire, but I like my glue gun better. I started at the top “v” and the bottom “v” & then I just filled in the sides. I did that so it wouldn’t lose the heart shape behind the big petals.

After the glue dried (ok, it may not have been totally dry… I was excited), I hung it on our blanket ladder with some pink & white ribbon.

I absolutely love how it turned out. Bright, neutral, and perfect for Valentine’s Day. Oh, and cheap! (I mean, uh, budget friendly…) $1 wire wreath + $6 flowers + $2 ribbon = $9! Not too bad!

What do you think? Let me know below!
