Simple Fall Table & DIY Pedestal Pumpkin Bowl

Happy Fall!

It’s officially fall and it is finally starting to feel like it. That means – fall decorating around our house!

When we moved into our new house earlier this year, I got rid of so many things so we could start fresh. I saved almost NO seasonal decor. So this year, I’m sticking to simple & fairly neutral… and always on budget 😉

Speaking of budget… a few weeks ago I found some gorgeous pedestal bowls while out window shopping. I knew it would be the perfect centerpiece on our table to hold my $1 Target pumpkins. Only problem? I couldn’t find one under $40 that was big enough and looked right. Searched online too… Even my trusty pal Amazon failed to have a cheap option.

Sooo I decided to DIY. Here’s how it went:

First I found a large heavy bowl ($7 at Ross) & a candlestick ($4 also at Ross). I made sure the candlestick was wide enough to support the bowl without tipping over.

I really wanted a white candlestick, but only found glass… Nothing spray paint can’t fix!

I spray painted the candlestick with 3 light coats of white spray paint. I waited about 30 minutes between each coat. After trying so many spray paints over the years, Rustoleum is my favorite. Especially this spray handle, because it’s a lot easier to me.

Looks so much better white, right!?

Last, I pulled out my handy hot glue gun and attached the bowl to the candlestick.

Here’s the finished product!

And of course one with the pup!

I absolutely love it all together! Even though I don’t have a ton of fall decor, it has really warmed up the space.

Let me know what you think!
